If you did a Christmas Loan with BPCU, you must make your first payment due January 11, 2013 in person. If you do not, your payment will be converted to a monthly payment that will be taken once per month until the City of Birmingham completes the Lawson transition to migrate to bi-weekly payments. In the event that we have to take your payment monthly via payroll due to you not making payments, this will result in a higher interest repayment of approximately $3-$5 more depending on the date that you took out the loan. Please contact the credit union to make arrangements for these payments to be made. Remember, you have a 10 day grace period before you will incur a $25.00 late fee.
We apologize for the inconvenience, and hope that the City will have the computer issue resolved by February or March at the latest.
This only affects Christmas Loan Payments, ALL OTHER LOANS WILL CONTINUE AS THEY HAVE FOR THE PAST 20 YEARS.
